wellz, just some updates again
firstly, internet here is really in shambles. There's like 3 comps in this house alone but internet is not common. Still using dial-ups.. rather used to broadband already.
secondly, i found that they dun renovate the outside of their house, but the inside decor is done very well, kinda surprising.
Sunday
It was quite fun also. Slept until very late. (i slept damn early somemore) then just went my cousin's hse nearby. Was talking to this distant cousin/uncle in his 20s nearby. He had served in US army from 99-04 and nearly went to Iraq XD... haha, he's now doing constructions here. One uncle drove me around the town nearby. Then around 11 was lunch again.. wow. a HELL lot of food again. I was sitting beside and chatting with this young man. He's backpack travelling around mostly. He just returned from an ultrathrifty 1mth trip from Viet/Cam/Laos. Eventually found out that he's my cousin's neighbor's son. But people there are all like so close and he's treating me like a brother too. The best dish i tot was the eel with bamboo shoots. With sizzling oil poured on it. I swear i ate half of it. LOLZ.
Shanghai really remind me of NY and HK combined. If u come, u will noe.. The landscape is totally like NY, buildings totally like HK... hybrid maybe??
After lunch just took a cab with an uncle to city area. We visited xintiandi. iT IS mostly famous la, i personally just find it a place for beer and dancing, that's all, so not very special for me personaly. Only thing of interest was there als ogot this venue of the first ever communist meeting in china in 1921. will show a picture when i come back. Walked along the busy streets.
Surprisingly i found a lot of parks and gardens built in the heart of the city and very very well done also. Greenary among the forest of buildings. Saw Shanghai's esplanade. Rooftop of that ws the heaviest piece of metal cast. Went the urban planning museum nearby. Honestly, this is a WORLD CLASS piece of architecture and place of interst, really. It showcased shanghai's future. There's this damn damn big model of the whole planning of city area of shanghai. I tink s'pore in Expo 2010 is beside finland. Like 100 mrt stations to be built 0_0 the 3D tour is the best i have ever seen. Very very impressive.
People's square is this romantic piece of green in the city. Very romantic and aesthetically very pleasing. Just across is Raffles City, haha, just like the one in singapore. Experienced taking MRT, like the one in HK actually. But the people are a bit ... no such thing as allowing people to exit first, so it was a bit hard to get out.
Visted Lu Jia Zhui, shanghai's "manhatten". TBH, it's simply not that level yet, but a great idea though. Dongfangmingzhu looks a very impressive building. And i tot that having gardens for every commercial building is a great idea. Went to jinmao building. 4th highest now.(i have not visited all the top 10 ones other than Taipei 101 and the ones in Chicago)Though i tot it was quite ex. 88 storey the view was good, but not smashing. Slightly shrouded in mist, but still great. Very good view. Bought a model of the building. One shot i tried to take, down the middle showing all the storeys. How to describe, but a very nice view down, but cannot be shot.
Ate at the shopping mall just infront. Claimed to be Asia's biggest shopping mall. Not sure, but it's gigantic. But KL's times square's quite big too. Ate noodles and xiao long bao-my favorite :) After dinner just took a cab to visit Liu Shi Ying, my best friend in CTPS, but he left in P2. He's not in ShiFan affliliated High sch. He's not different too, like specs. So chatted with him. Played this lame but really destressing 3D Tom and Jerry game. Then he was like playing world of warcraft while i played fifa on his PSP. One interesting hting that i forgot, he said the teacher in pri sch scolded me for the P2 Math EOY, when i just finished the paper in like 20min and slept. The teacher said my sleeping posture is no good. LOL
